Senior Longevity

Senior Longevity participants 2023

The life expectancy of seniors in North Omaha is 9 to 10 years LESS than that of the ENTIRE county. ENCAP’s Senior Longevity program aims to help low-income adults 60+ in North Omaha live longer. ENCAP provides multiple evidence-based initiatives to adults aged 60+ to improve participants’ physical, social, and emotional health: Bingocize® and SAIL (Stay Active and Independent for Life). In addition, participants engage in a diversity of enrichment and educational activities, including but not limited to gardening, cooking and nutrition classes, digital literacy, and arts/culture. ENCAP provides free rides to and from programming as needed.

Results from this program consistently demonstrate that participants are improving their physical and social health. At ENCAP, seniors have the opportunity to access a high-impact program that helps them live longer, remain joyful, and maintain their independence longer-term.
