ENCAP is seeking a Nutrition Center Assistant – Part-time
ENCAP is looking for the right individual to prepare and deliver food boxes and provide great customer service to low-income seniors in Douglas and Sarpy Counties. In this 25 hour per week position, you would be able to work flexible hours with co-workers who love their jobs, and work additional hours as they become available.
Nutrition Center Assistant
This position will maintain the nutrition center warehouse in a clean and efficient manner, build and deliver commodities with professionalism, and instruct volunteers, transportation, and distribution staff as needed. This position will be an integral part of the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) site at ENCAP.
- Follow daily task list and communicate any changes to the Nutrition Center Coordinator.
- Build food boxes in preparation for distribution.
- Build bulk pallets for distribution and prepare in advance for each day’s delivery.
- Identify when additional boxes are needed and build
- Discard any broken or contaminated items.
- Receive and unload food shipments.
- Greet seniors with kindness and professionalism.
Environment and/or Physical Factors
Work is generally performed within a warehouse/loading environment. The employee must be able to handle themselves with safety in mind at all times and maintain safe pathways and loading/unloading procedures. Individual must be able to safely lift weight above head, upwards from floor to waist, and push/pull loaded pallets safely. Functional and Technical Competencies
We need someone with an attention to detail, a professional attitude, the ability to schedule and execute driving routes, and the ability to work independently.
Education/Training and Certification, Licensure, Registration Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Forklift certification preferred. Must have a driving record that allows individual to operate ENCAP vehicles. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical testing related to the position.
Experience & Qualifications
Must have the ability to work with diverse clientele in a respectful manner. Must be able to read and write English proficiently.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $11.00 to $14/hour (negotiable based on experience; performance increases possible)
